Not everyone needs the same build options - let them pick different things to play their own unique style. This can also make different strategies effective in different ways.ĭifferent Races: Let the player pick different races. Mazing: Personally I dislike the TDs that do away with mazing in general unless they have some other hooks (like controllable heroes or other such things.) Mazing adds strategic depth and makes tower placement crucial. Sure, you could build a few more towers to make you safer, but in a short while you wish you could buy that big expensive tower because you really need the efficiency. More expensive = more efficient: Along the same lines, this rewarded you for making good strategic decisions. You had to choose whether you wanted to spend money to be safer, and if so whether to build something big or just a small patch to hold out a bit longer. This made it worthwhile to build as little as possible, which added to depth. Here are some of the qualities I enjoyed or disliked from wc3 tds:īanking: You could save money and earn interest on how much money you were saving. Games spawning from DotA, TDs are becoming full game, I'm sure we'll probably see arena's at some point too (game idea!) I love seeing how WC3/SC:BW mods are becoming games in their own right.
